When in San Antonio - Visit the Riverwalk

San Antonio, Texas is home to a number of famous attractions. First and foremost, San Antonio is a U.S. city packed with an eclectic and interesting history.

The state of Texas, and particularly the city of San Antonio, is a story of heroism and independence, as a volunteer Texans fought to gain independence from Mexican forces in the mid-nineteenth century. The Battle at the Alamo in 1836 served as a symbol of the tenacity and resilience of Texans as 200 Texans held off Mexican forces (consisting of up to 6,000 men) for 13 days.

In addition to its rich history, San Antonio is known for its culture and local attractions. From its Native American roots to the heavy influence of the Spanish thereafter, San Antonio is a melting pot of cultures and flavors. Between its Native American and Spanish foundings, visitors get a great taste of the unique culture through art, food, music and more. Next to the historical tourist sites, one of the most popular attractions in San Antonio is its downtown River Walk.

The San Antonio River Walk is a connected series of city park spaces and walkways that follow along the San Antonio River. The River Walk is lined with restaurants and shops, making the river banks a major attraction for both locals and visitors alike. Walk down the paths and take in the sites at your own pace, or opt to travel down the water by river taxi. The Go Rio San Antonio River Cruises are a fantastic way to travel around from point A to point B or partake in a guided tour packed with information and history about the city of San Antonio.
