The 5th Annual National Hospitalist Conference on September 13-16, 2021 on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate in awe-inspiring Asheville is designed to provide attendees with the information and skills to improve the care of hospitalized patients. The conference's focus is on the practical management of problems commonly encountered in hospital medicine. An emphasis will be placed on recent advances, up-to-date practices, and guidelines for inpatient care. This year's conference will be held in morning only sessions allowing you to have your afternoons free to reflect on your learning and re-energize in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Day One will feature a half day focused on Perioperative Medicine, moderated by Steven Cohn, MD, author of the "Decision Making in Perioperative Medicine: Clinical Pearls". Subject matter experts on hospital medicine topics will present on Days 2-4 on important clinical topics including: GI Bleeding, Inpatient Stroke Management, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Respiratory Failure, Bacteremia, Delirium, Alcohol Withdrawal and Opiate Use Disorder Management in the Hospital, Nutrition Support and more.
At the completion of this activity, participants should be better prepared to:
- Provide an accurate diagnostic assessment for a broad range of disorders commonly seen in the inpatient setting.
- Utilize current guidelines in the management of commonly encountered therapeutic issues presented by the hospitalized patient.
- Formulate comprehensive evidence-based interventions and treatment strategies that will lead to the reduction of modifiable risk factors and improved outcomes.
This conference is designed for a target audience of internal medicine and family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other related healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of hospitalized patients.
