The Volcano House
There are a number of options when it comes to hiking through the park. The park offers a number of marked hiking trails as well as backcountry hiking with a permit and permission. Visitors are also allowed to camp at the park. There is also a lodge, the Volcano House, on site and is available for reservations.
Crater Rim Drive Tour
One super unique feature about Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is how the park lights up at night. Stay after dark to see the glow of the active crater, something you can’t see hardly anywhere else in the world. Additional activities to do within the park include biking the paths as well as the Crater Rim Drive Tour if you would prefer to drive over walking.
The park makes it easy and accessible for all to take in the natural beauty and get up close and personal with active volcanoes--something the majority of the other national parks cannot say!
