All of our live conferences provide Prescribed credits approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Continuing Education Company, Inc. (CEC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. In addition to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, we offer Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. All of our online courses provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Please see our accreditation page for each conference or course for information on other allied health professionals.
Are your conferences approved for ABIM MOC points?
Yes! Our conferences are approved and eligible for ABIM MOC points. Successful completion of the CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.
How do I get my certificate?
We hand out the certificates on the last day of the conference. They will not be mailed or emailed to you. If you plan on leaving early let the staff know prior to your departure day, so we can have the certificate ready for you. Webcast certificates will be available as soon as you complete an online survey at the end of the conference.
How are my credits reported?
You are required to self-report your credits based upon the actual hours you claimed to your organization and/or licensing or credentialing board. CEC will report all ABIM MOC points.
Are your conferences family-friendly?
Many of our conferences are held at family friendly beach resorts with both hotel rooms and multiple bedroom villas. We try to plan certain conferences during school vacations (Spring break, Summer) so that you can bring your family. With our half-day format, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the location with your family. We respectfully ask that no guests or children be brought to the conference rooms due to insurance liability and as a courtesy to fellow attendees. If childcare is needed during the conference, we suggest that you contact the hotel concierge for recommendations.
Do you make the hotel and air reservations? Are there special room rates?
You are responsible for making your own hotel accommodations and transportation (flight/ground) arrangements. We do negotiate a special room rate with each hotel. Special room rate pricing is listed in the Hotel/Resort section for each conference, as well as rental car discount information at the bottom of that page.
Do you provide food and drink?
A continental breakfast is served at each morning of the conference for attendees only. A mid-morning coffee and soda break is scheduled, as well. Certain three-day conferences also include lunch.
Who will your conferences benefit the most?
The curriculum is varied and developed for Family Medicine, Internal Medicine Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
Who are the faculty?
All of our presenters are affiliated with a major academic institution, involved with research or are considered thought leaders in their area of expertise. However, in all cases we insist that our speakers are involved in clinical care. All of our speakers see patients on a regular basis and are able to explain what the guidelines and data mean to a physician’s practice and their patients.
